Mumbai: Even as a final decision on the fate of the second edition of the IPL is awaited, the franchisees on Friday announced their squad lists for the second season.
Despite the financial downturn this year, the franchises have bolstered their squads. Kolkata Knight Riders announced the biggest pool of players with 57 while Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab have 24 to choose from.
There are a total of 189 Indian players participating this season with 80 international players accompanying them.
"The finalisation of the playing squads by each of the eight franchises is truly a major milestone for Season II of the Indian Premier League," IPL commissioner Lalit Modi said.
"I am particularly pleased by the fact that all the franchisees have invested in grooming young Indian talent, who will undoubtedly benefit immensely from their experiences with the international players and their interactions with the India seniors."
